Dr. Dorothy Sonya is an orthodontic specialist with 35 years of clinical and academic experience. She is an active member of several professional oral healthcare organizations, and is a well-respected lecturer and clinician. Her ongoing commitment to advanced training and technology allows her to consistently implement the latest research into her patient’s treatment plans.
Originally from Steinbach, Manitoba, Dr. Sonya completed her dental school education at the University of Western Ontario, followed by five years as a general dentist and three additional years of specialized graduate training in Orthodontics at the University of Manitoba. During this time, she worked in both pediatric dentistry braces at PacificWest Orthondist Surrey and general orthodontics. This experience provided her with essential insights into the long term oral health needs of her patients, which she uses to craft each treatment approach to ensure that both their aesthetic goals and lasting function are accomplished.
Marie joined Pacific West Orthondist Surrey in 2009 and is an invaluable part of the team. She is one of the first people you will meet when you visit our office and she loves interacting with our patients and making them feel welcome. When she’s not at the office, she enjoys spending her spare time with her family and friends.
